Fall Car Maintenance Tips

Easy and Important Fall Car Maintenance Tips

Now that the weather is changing, it’s time again to think about some routine maintenance for your vehicle. I know what you’re thinking: but it’s not dangerously hot like the summer, and the hazards of snow haven’t arrived yet. What could I need to do? Well, here’s some Fall Car Maintenance Tips that are important to follow!

Check Tire Pressure

This is one that you should be in the habit of routinely doing regardless, but now that it’s much colder than it was even a few weeks ago, it is especially important. Why? Because when the temperature drops, so does the air pressure in your tires. You might even find yourself with a surprise flat! Make sure you check our pressure amount is recommended for your vehicle by checking the inside of the driver-side door.

Check your Heater

It’s probably been quite a while since you had to run the heat in your car, and even now it might still be too early to turn it on. However, now is the perfect time to check, since you don’t want it to be freezing when you discover that the heater isn’t working at full capacity. You should also specifically run the defrosters to make sure they’re working as intended too. If either of them are a little off, bring them into our service department and we’ll take a look!

Check your Lights

Again, this is another one that you should be checking out every so often, but we’re gonna give it some special attention since the days are getting shorter. You should replace any light that’s stopped working, and clean them of they’re getting a bit foggy. Make sure to also run your hazards and check to see if they’re working as well!
Don’t forget about any of the other things, like air filters, checking fluids, and keeping an eye on your windshield wipers. If you’re not sure how to personally check anything, feel free to bring it into our service center in Fond du Lac. We’ll make sure everything is ready and set for your fall driving!
