2015 Ford Mustang vs 2015 Chevy Camaro

Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros have been compared to each other for years now, and are for a good reason. They both have a significant amount of historical relevance as sports cars in America. Even to this day, though, it’s worth taking another look at this two juggernauts in the performance vehicle category and pitting the 2015 Ford Mustang vs 2015 Chevy Camaro.

The base models of these two are very comparable to each other. The MSRP, engine, transmission and 0-60 time all clock in at a fairly equal number. There are some key differences, despite how it looks at first, including driver comfort. The Chevy comes standard with only 2-directional controls in the driver and passenger seats. The 2015 Ford Mustang, on the other hand, has a much more customizable setup with 6-way controls in the driver seat, and 4-way controls for the passenger. The Mustang can also surpass the mileage of the Camaro with its EcoBoost engine that extends its rating to 22 City/31 Highway.

Premium Options and Trims for the 2015 Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro

Both cars are available in a premium convertible trim that goes just north of $40,000, with the Mustang being the less expensive choices. There are some parallels here as well, with both coming with leather seats, a power convertible top, and V8 engines. The Mustang is the better performer, though, with a 0-60mph time of 4.8 seconds vs 5.5 seconds.

Infact, the GT Premium Convertible trim of the Mustang still keeps up with a Camaro priced more than $20,000 above it, only losing the race to 60mph by 0.2 seconds. And for $5,000 less, you can even get a Shelby Mustang capable of going 0-60mph in 3.1 seconds. Another notable difference separating these two is the premium audio systems. The Mustang comes with a 9-performance speaker system with a 370w amp, while the Camaro is using only brand speakers and a 245w amp without a CD player.
