2017 Ford Fusion vs 2016 Ford Fusion
Going from one model year to the next isn’t always the most exciting thing, but despite their similarities there is quite a bit different when coming the 2017 Ford Fusion vs 2016 Ford Fusion. Sure, it has the expected changes here and there -- such as a smaller front grille and redesigned headlamps -- but the new 2017 Ford Fusion has several added new features and functionalities not available in the 2016 Model.
So what exactly is different when looking at the 2017 Ford Fusion and 2016 Ford Fusion? For starters the 2017 Fusion has additional trim levels that weren’t available for 2016 model-year Fusions. The Ford Fusion Sport is a performance-ready Ford Fusion with huge amounts of power at the gas pedal, while the Fusion Platinum reaches a new echelon of luxury for the model.

Differences between the 2017 Ford Fusion and 2016 Ford Fusion
When first stepping into the new 2017 Ford Fusion there is one big difference that you will notice straight away -- the shifter has changed. The Fusion is still only offered with an automatic transmission, but instead of the large shifter knob that is in pretty much every modern car, Ford has created a small dial. The 2017 Ford Fusion uses this extra gained space well by implementing improved, larger cupholders, additional storage space for your phone, and an electronic parking brake. Plus, the dial is highly intuitive and we think you’ll get used to it very quickly!
Even with all these little improvements, the Ford Fusion is still very much the same car we all know and love. Lower trim levels on each model year share engine specs and fuel efficiency ratings, so no matter which year you pick, you can rest assured that you won’t be burning fuel away. Of course, if you want that added MPG then you can also hit up the Ford Fusion Hybrid model or Plug-in hybrid.
