How to pair a phone with Ford SYNC
Whether you’re the proud owner of a new Ford model or a new smartphone, you’ll definitely want the two working in harmony to make your in-cabin experience as smooth and safe as possible. With the Ford SYNC system being compatible with so many of today’s top smartphone models, you should have no problem getting things synced up, and today we’ll tell you how! 1. The first thing you’ll need to do is ensure that your phone is one of the many compatible models. Here’s where you can go check in case you’re not sure.
2. Alright! Now that you’ve determined that you’ve got a SYNC-compatible device in your hands, the next thing you want to make sure is that everything’s powered on. Your phone, vehicle, and radio/SYNC system are all on? Okay, you’re ready for the next step!
3. Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth features is enabled and that it’s able to be discovered. This will look different on various phone models, but it will likely be found in your settings.
4. Now on your SYNC interface you should see a Phone button. Press it to access the menu and then select Add a Device, and allow it to being pairing your device.
5. Now SYNC will ask you to search for SYNC on your device and enter the PIN provided. SYNC will display a six-digit number for three minutes, during which time you’ll search for SYNC on your phone and input the number given to you by SYNC. Once you’ve done this, you should get a message telling you the phone is connected to SYNC.
