How to use the Sync 3 System in Ford Cars
While we’re fans of the MyFord and MyFord Touch systems that currently hold down the infotainment fort in Ford vehicles, we’re even more excited to see a new system being announced that’ll be ushered in to the next generation of Ford models. It’s called Sync 3, and based on what we know so far it’s going to be one of the most intuitive, easy-to-use, and comprehensive systems out there. Today we’ll give you the details we’ve got so far and give you a better idea of how to use the Sync 3 system in Ford cars.
One of the major goals during the development of Sync 3 was to take current trends in the tech and gadget world and adapt them for the in-car experience. This way, the functionalities you would expect from other devices like a phone or tablet will in some ways be mirrored in your vehicle, making for a more seamless user experience.
In fact, smartphones played a major role in inspiring how the user interface would work. Simple, fast, and with many of the same usage principles as you’d see on a touchscreen smartphone, the Sync 3 system allows for the same swiping gestures as well as pinching to zoom, on a map for example.
Another guiding principle of the Sync 3 system was the prominence of voice commands to perform any number of tasks like making a call or choosing a song or playlist. A simple push of the steering wheel-mounted Voice button allows a driver to take control without relinquishing the ability to concentrate on the road ahead and without removing their hands from the wheel. As stated by the developer in the video above, one of the main goals was to keep people from picking up their phones while driving, a practice that is decidedly unsafe and done all too often on today’s roadways.
Our sales team here at Holiday Ford looks forward to debuting the Sync 3 system to Fond du Lac area motorists in the near future!
