With a few already successful models, like the Ford F-150 Raptor, Ford is going even one step further to say that they plan on introducing more than 12 new performance vehicles in the next 6 years. The all-new Ford GT that appeared at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this year will be one of the family of new models being released in the near future.
The existing lineup, the Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Shelby GT350 Mustang, and F-150 Raptor, will be soon including the Ford GT and the Ford Focus RS. The goal is to combine the ideas used for race cars and what the average customer drives. This way Ford is able to increase the performance both on the road and on the track without being forced to choose one over the other.
An example of the new technology being produced through Ford’s research and innovation is the EcoBoost engine. Ford’s racing innovations are being used to improve the engines of everyday cars resulting in engines that run more smoothly in all situations. Increased fuel efficiency meets impressive design to match the growing demand for these vehicles.
Technology today is moving towards making cars efficient, but also fun to drive. As a result, many of the younger people, millennials, are the target audience for these vehicles and are the ones buying them. Despite being more expensive than the traditional Ford car, it seems that the available safety technology and benefits of higher performing cars are worth it.
