The weather’s been unseasonably warm and pleasant lately, and we’re certainly not complaining. However, we can’t help but feel extra ready for spring and summer to hurry up and get here for real so that we can enjoy all the fun that accompanies these seasons here in Wisconsin. This includes farm markets of course, where we get to purchase and enjoy locally-produced goods. So when’s the Milwaukee farmers market 2015 season start up? We’ll give you the details on some of your options right here:
While the vast majority of those big summer outdoor markets won’t be up and running for a while now (more on that shortly) it might do you well to remember that the Milwaukee County Winter Farmers Market is still going strong, with 35 weekly vendors showing up at The Domes on South Layton Boulevard each week from 9:00am to 1:00pm each week through April 11th. Fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy, baked goods, cider, and much more await you — If you can’t wait til summer for fresh local produce, don’t!
So when do the outdoor markets kick off? Starting in May, which is just around the corner (hang in there!), here are a few of your options:
Fondy Farmers Market: Located at 2200 W. Fond du Lac Avenue in Milwaukee, this one starts up in May with limited hours (expanded hours and days begin in June) and runs through November. It’s one of the biggest and longest-running producers-only markets in Milwaukee so make sure to check it out.
South Milwaukee Market: Runs May 28-October 8th 2015 and is located on 11th & Milwaukee Avenue in downtown South Milwaukee. This one’s held on Thursdays from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
East Side Green Market: This one features locally grown produce from June through October on Saturdays from 10:00am til 2:00pm. There’s a yet to be announced location for 2015 so stay tuned to their site for further details.
And of course, if you’re looking for a great price on a new or used vehicle in the area, shoot on up and see us here at Holiday Ford in nearby Fond du Lac where we’ll take great care of you!
