A while ago we had a blog post teasing you on some of the performance tests that Ford is putting the 2017 F-150 Raptor through. If you didn’t read it, the basics is that they’re going the whole nine yards and then some! The Ford Raptor obviously is very appealing to those who are looking to take their trucks off-roading and push it a bit more than the average truck can take. To tease us even more, Ford has released off-road test footage of the 2017 F-150 Raptor.
2017 F-150 Raptor Off-Road Capabilities
The 2017 F-150 Raptor, just like the previous F-150 Raptor, is a great truck for off-roading. The all-new 2017 model has better ground clearance than the first-generation Raptor, though — which is very important so large rocks don’t scrape the underside of the truck. This is why you often see off-road fanatics lifting their trucks or SUVs.
The 2017 Raptor also comes with standard 3.0 inch Fox Racing shox with custom internal bypass technology. If that comes standard, we’re pretty excited to see what all the options are going to be on the F-150 Raptor when it releases. It also has an all-new four-wheel-drive, torque-on-demand transfer case — which will improve its performance on trails even further. The video below demonstrates just a portion of the Raptor’s off-road capabilities.
As you can see, the F-150 Raptor handles the rough terrain with ease. We also really loved the shots showing the shox in motion. Even if the trail or road is rough that doesn’t mean that your ride has to be! Much like the current 2015 F-150, the Raptor will also make use of the military-grade aluminum that Ford has been using to improve its line of trucks.
You can test drive the all-new 2017 Ford Raptor in fall 2016. Until then, keep up with our blog to see all the latest F-150 Raptor and other Ford news!
