Improve City Mileage in the Ford F-150 with Start-Stop TechnologyHow does Start-Stop technology work?

The basics of Ford’s start-stop technology in its engines is that when you’re stopped at a traffic light, the engine will automatically shut itself off to cut down on emissions and unnecessary fuel usage. Then when the brake is released the F-150’s engine will start backup again. This mode is turned off in certain circumstances, like when the F-150 is being used to tow something or if four-wheel drive is engaged.
