It’s undeniable that Ford has been making huge steps recently to both increase the value of its performance vehicles coming off the line and the amount of support that Ford is giving them. Ford has been known to offer performance and upgrade kits for its performance vehicles, and the Mustang is no exception. The Mustang’s with V8 engines are typically the models that receive these kits, but that’s no longer the case as Ford will be releasing a performance kit for the EcoBoost Mustang this time around.

Performance Kit for the EcoBoost I-4 Mustang

The four-cylinder Mustang is a surprising vehicle. People are shocked just when you show them the stats on this engine, let alone take them for a ride in the EcoBoost Mustang to see first hand what it can do. But wanting to squeeze out just a bit more performance is pretty understandable, and we’re glad to see Ford release something like the EcoBoost I-4 Mustang Performance Kit.

The Mustang EcoBoost kit offers an engine calibration along with a new cold air intake that will increase your horsepower and torque. In total, you’ll see 25 more horsepower and a big increase of 70 lb-ft of torque for a total of 335 hp and 390 lb-ft. torque. It looks like Ford is planning to charge $699 for the package, is legal in all 50 states, and you can keep your warranty if it’s installed at a Ford Performance-authorized dealership. The kit is compatible with 2015 and newer EcoBoost-equipped Mustangs with either an automatic or manual transmission.

Performance Kit for the Mustang GT

The Mustang GT is a top performer, even at the highest standards, but that doesn’t mean you can’t shoot for even bigger numbers. In total, Ford is offering three different packages for those wanting to increase performance of the Mustang GT, which can result in an increase of 37 horsepower for a new peak of 472 hp.

Other changes, such as the ability to make shifts without lifting your foot off the throttle, are also offered in the performance packages. Like the EcoBoost, the packages are compatible with 2015 and newer Mustang GT’s. Both kits are available now from the official Ford Performance shop.
