It’s auto show season, which means plenty of news will be releasing here and there, but we’ve already seen some big stuff from Ford. Ford recently announced a brand-new model — the EcoSport SUV. Ford EcoSport SUV at LA Auto Show
We finally have been introduced to Ford’s newest SUV — the 2018 Ford EcoSport. As the same suggests, it’s a smaller, sporty SUV that has a focus on efficiency numbers. It may be a small SUV, but Ford has been bragging about just how packed with features it is.

The most impressive part of its cabin seems to be its wide offerings of entertainment features. The EcoSport will be rocking a SYNC 3 infotainment system and large 8-inch touch screen right at the top of the center console, making it very easy to see. You will also be able to connect your smartphone to make use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Our absolute favorite thing, though, is probably the available sound system. The EcoSport can be equipped with a 10 speaker, 675-watt sound system for the perfect audio experience.
What engine is in the 2018 Ford EcoSport?
The Ford EcoSport will be borrowing some award winning parts from other Ford vehicles. It can be equipped with either the 1.0L I-3 turbocharged EcoBoost engine or a 2.0L I-4 engine. Both come with six-speed automatic transmissions, but upgrading to the 2.0L I-4 also gets you the Intelligent 4WD at the base level. There’s no word on exact efficiency numbers just yet, but t he I-3 can also be found on the Ford Focus, where it offers up to 40 MPG on the highway. Though, the Focus is also smaller than the EcoSport.

When will the 2018 EcoSport hit dealerships?
It’s way too early to have an exact date for when the EcoSport will be available, but Ford has said that we’ll be seeing it in early 2018 — which isn’t too far off.
