Trucks can be complicated when it comes to towing. How much can the 2018 Ford F-150 tow? That’s a difficult question, as there are so many different configurations available, and each of them has its own max towing figure that it is rated for. Even so, we will provide the answers.
Maximum towing of the 2018 Ford F-150
The Ford F-150 has the highest rated towing capacity amongst all the 2018 trucks in its class at 13,200 pounds.
That max towing figure is achieved with a SuperCrew F-150 XL that is configured as a 4×2 with a 3.55 rear axle. To achieve max towing, the configuration also needs the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine along with the Max Trailer Towing package.

How much can the Ford F-150 Raptor tow?
The Raptor has a special version of the 3.5-liter V6 with twin turbos. It is known as the High Output version. Though the specs for the engine are more impressive, due to off-road upgrades the Raptor actually has reduced towing capability. With the SuperCab, it has a maximum towing capability of 6,000 pounds, and with the SuperCrew cab, it has a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 pounds.

2018 F-150 diesel towing capability
We’ve mentioned previously that the F-150 is getting a diesel engine, but you’ll notice it’s not included on the list above. That’s because not all the numbers are available for this particular engine yet.
We do know that it will be able to achieve a max towing figure of 11,400 pounds, but we do not have configuration details. The diesel engine option will be available later this year.
