Are the engine options different for the F-250 and F-350?
We will get into engine options in a moment, but first, we should talk about some differences between the F-250 and F-350. As you likely all know, the F-350 has more capability than the F-250. In fact, the F-250 has a max towing capacity of 18,500 pounds and the F-350 has a max towing capability of 32,000 pounds.

Those differences mostly come from a beefier rear suspension in the F-350, along with an available 3-inch trailer hitch receiver and the option for dual rear wheels. The actual engine options between the two models are the same.

What is the F-450?
If you are looking for even more capability, then the F-450 is a step above even the F-350. It comes with fewer options overall. It only comes with a Crew Cab for starters. Dual rear wheels now come standard but without the option for single rear wheels. What’s more, it only comes with the 6.7-liter Powerstroke diesel engine.
This model upgrades the front suspension, adds two additional wheel studs, and makes other improvements to achieve some extreme capability numbers. How extreme? How does 34,000 pounds of maximum tow capacity sound? All Super Duty trucks are built for the toughest jobs, and the F-450 is more than most people need, but if your demands are high, than the F-450 may be the perfect option.
