The Escape is still a two-row five-passenger SUV, but it has even more room than the EcoSport. With all the seats up, it can handle 34.3 cubic-feet of cargo room. If you are not carrying five people, then you can fold down that second row and give yourself 67.8 cubic-feet of cargo room.
How does the 2018 Escape compare to the competition?
Edge cargo capacity
The Edge is the largest two-row SUV in the Ford lineup, and as you would expect it has even more cargo room than the Escape. With all the seats up, it has room for 39.2 cubic-feet of cargo. With the second-row seats folded though, that cargo area expands to 73.4 cubic-feet.
Flex cargo capacity
The Ford Flex has seating for 7 people with three rows of seating. Because of that, it has less cargo room with all the seats up at 20.0 cubic-feet. If you fold down the third row you get 43.2 cubic-feet of space, and if you also fold down the second row you get 83.2 cubic-feet of cargo room.
Explorer cargo capacity
The Explorer is similar to the Flex in physical size and passenger capacity and though it is typically ranked above the Flex, it has a little less room in most configurations. With all seats up, it has 21 cubic-feet of space. With the third row folded it has 43.8 cubic-feet, and with the second row folded it has 80.7 cubic-feet.
Expedition cargo capacity
The Expedition is the largest Ford SUV, with seating for 8 and it actually has two variants: The Expedition and the Expedition MAX. The Expedition gives you 30.9 cubic-feet behind the third row, 63.9 cubic-feet behind the second row, and 104.6 behind the first row. The MAX is longer bringing those measurements to 36 cubic-feet, 79.6 cubic-feet, and 121.4 cubic-feet respectively.
