Do any color options add an extra cost to the Explorer?
Some of the colors above are achieved with special paints and finishes that add to the cost of the paint application. Of the colors above, there are a total of four that actually add to the MSRP. Burgundy Velvet and Ruby Red both add $395 to the MSRP and White Platinum along with Platinum Dune both add $595 to the MSRP.
You may have to see these colors in person to see why the extra cost is certainly worth it, and if you live in the Fond du Lac, WI area, then the Holiday Ford inventory will have some of these premium colors in stock in its new Ford Explorer inventory.
What are the Explorer interior color options?
The Base trim of the Explorer comes with a cloth interior like you would expect. The Base model only offers its cloth in Medium Stone. If you move up one trim level to the XLT, then you can choose between Medium Stone or Ebony Black Cloth.
However, on the XLT trim, you can also add leather as an optional feature. With the 201A package, you can choose between Medium Stone leather and Ebony Black leather. The XLT exclusive Sport Appearance Package also adds an Ebony Black leather option with exclusive red contrast stitching.

The Limited trim adds perforated leather standard in either Medium Stone or Ebony Black. If you are looking for some more interior color options, then the Platinum trim adds Nirvana leather which again comes in Ebony but also comes in Medium Soft Ceramic.
