What is Ford Co-Pilot360?
A modern Ford is a technological marvel. The list of technology and safety features included in many Ford models, especially at higher trim levels, is just ridiculous. To make things simpler, Ford has rolled many of its safety features into something called Co-Pilot360? What is Ford Co-pilot360 and what features does it typically include? We will answer that here.
BLIS® with cross-traffic alert
Ford loves to use acronyms, and BLIS® is another example of that. It stands for Blind Spot Information System, and it’s better known as the little lights on your mirrors that let you know if someone is in your blind spot. The system will even beep at you if you engage your turn signal while it detects a presence in the direction you intend to move. As a side note, this can also make it inadvertently go off when there are two lanes of turning traffic.
That is a wonderful safety feature in and of itself, but that’s not all it does. The cross-traffic alert is also there to alert you to oncoming traffic when you are backing up. This is great for coming out of parking stalls or tight driveways where you are not always granted the visibility that you want.

Lane keeping system
The lane keeping system is also included with Co-Pilot360. It uses a camera mounted on the front windshield to see the lines of the road. If it detects you are drifting out of a lane without the appropriate signal, it will alert you.
Pre-collision assist
The other two features listed above are designed to keep you from ever getting into an accident, but what if an accident is already imminent? That’s where pre-collision assist comes into play. If the car thinks a collision with another car or even a pedestrian is imminent, it will pre-charge the brakes and give you a bright red flash. If you take no action, the car will brake automatically.

Other features included with Co-Pilot360
Co-Pilot360 has a long list of features overall, and we did not even cover them all above. This safety suite also includes a rearview camera complete with guidelines and auto high-beam control for your headlights. In addition to that, it is also available with adaptive cruise control, which we have already covered extensively in another blog post.
