What’s included in the 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum Model?
The 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum trim is packed, so much so that it would probably be quicker to list what isn’t included in it! It comes standard with a 2.5L EcoBoost V6 with Intelligent 4WD that can tow up to 5,000 lbs. Another feature we’re excited to discuss is the dual-panel moonroof. This standard feature on the platinum trim offers an unparalleled level of vision to both rows of passenger seats.
Music lovers are especially going to be into this, but one of the key feature in the Platinum level Explorer is the Premium Sound from Sony with Clear Phase and Live Acoustics. This 500 watt system includes 12 speakers, iTunes tagging capabilities, and comes with tech that reduces distortion and enhances sound presence for the driver and passengers.
The Explorer Platinum also offers the best in interior comfort. Not only are the seats a luxurious Nirvana leather, but much of the rest of the interior is as well. The instrument cluster also features a 10-inch digital display that is also complemented with additional analog displays. A brushed-aluminum Ford oval is also centered in the steering wheel, which marks the first time a Ford production vehicle has ever had this feature.
