Thanksgiving is drawing closer and closer, but we think that the spirit of thankfulness should extend beyond just turkey day. Thankfully, we’re not the only ones who think this way! As it happens, there are a few different Thanksgiving events happening in Fond du Lac WI in 2016, and they look like great ways to extend the holiday.
Community Harvest Craft and Vendor Fair
When: November 19, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Lutheran Homes and Health Services
We have already talked a little bit about the annual Community Harvest Craft and Vendor Fair in Fond du Lac, but it’s worth going over again. You’ll be able to find more than 30 different vendors set up on the ground floor of the Lutheran Home, which is a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping. If you’re there during lunch, you’ll be able to purchase some food. Otherwise, there is also going to be a bake sale throughout the day. Door prizes and basket raffles offer chances to win special prizes, as well!
Gobblefest 17 in Fond du Lac
When: November 23, 2016, at 8:30 p.m.
Where: Shack Sports Bar in Fond du Lac WI
Ready to celebrate the 17th annual Gobblefest in Fond du Lac? You can see three different live bands at Gobblefest this year — including Five Card Stud and Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z. Tickets for Gobblefest can be purchased before noon the Tuesday before at a discounted rate of $7. Prices at the door will be $12. Proceeds from Gobblefest will benefit Give a Heart to Gilly and Greenbush-Kettle Moraine Trail Blazers. Doors open at 6:30 pm. And the show will start at 8:30 p.m.
2016 Turkey Trot in Fond du Lac WI
When: November 24, 2016, at 8:00 a.m.
Where: Fond du Lac High School
What better way is there to prepare for a giant meal of turkey and potatoes than burning some calories earlier in the morning? Whether you’re interested in running or walking, the Turkey Trot in Fond du Lac is a great chance for some healthy exercise. Everyone is free to participate in the 5-mile timed run or 2-mile untimed run/walk. You can register online here ahead of time to save some cash!
