Veterans Day Flag Ceremony in Fond du Lac
Where: Schreiner’s Restaurant in Fond du Lac
When: Nov. 11, 2016, at 7:00 a.m.
Members of the Abler-Engel Post #454 American Legion in Mount Calvary and SSG Tim Nachtwey of the Military Funeral Honors Team will be performing a traditional flag ceremony at Schreiner’s Restaurant. Past and present members of the U.S. Military are invited to attend the event, as is the general Fond du Lac community. As a thank you for their service, Schreiner’s Restaurant will be giving away free dessert to all Veterans on Veterans Day who have proper identification.

Veterans Pancake Breakfast in Fond du Lac
Where: Fond du Lac Senior Center
When: Nov. 11, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The Fond du Lac Senior Center will be hosting its annual Pancake Breakfast on the morning of Veterans Day from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Breakfast will be Free for all veterans and their spouses. It’s requested that you make reservations (call 920-322-3630) ahead of time. Along with pancakes, you can expect to find other breakfast goodies like sausages, applesauce, coffee and more!
Veterans Day Chili Dinner in Fond du Lac
Where: American Legion in Fond du Lac
When: Nov. 11, 2016, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Fond du Lac American Legion will be hosting a Veterans Day Chili Dinner from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Veterans will receive a free bowl of chili, while others can pay $5 per bowl for ages 6 and older or $3 per bowl for 5 and under. Winning essays on Americanism will be shared from local, state and national winners of the Americanism essay contest, starting at 6 p.m.
