How does the intelligent AWD for Ford work?
Intelligent AWD on the 2017 Ford Fusion is able to balance torque properly between the front and rear wheels. This leads to superior handling and maximum traction — even when the weather doesn’t feel like cooperating with you. But what makes this feature intelligent? The AWD system in the Ford uses sensors to monitor each wheel every 16 milliseconds, and then adjusts to ensure that you stay in control of the Fusion. Intelligent AWD is available on the 2.0L EcoBoost engine in the 2017 Ford Fusion, and comes standard with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 in the Fusion Sport trim.
