Ford F-150 BoxLink
Cargo management is the next big game in the pickup world. Every major automaker is trying their hand at putting together the most comprehensive, innovative way for working people to haul their equipment and goods. This month, Ford unveiled the Ford F-150 BoxLink, a system that includes features you won’t find elsewhere. If you’re looking for everyday efficient solutions for making sure everything gets from Point A to Point B securely, you’ve got to check out everything the BoxLink system entails. We’ll give you a rundown here.
Four lockable, die-cast zinc tie-down cleats will allow you to easily and securely tie down your equipment. There are also four cargo hooks, for a total of eight tie-down locations. Since the cleats can be easily added or removed if you don’t want them in the way, the system is more customizable than ever. The cleats can bear a horizontal load of 275 pounds and a diagonal load of 600 pounds.
Another great feature of the BoxLink system are the LED lights that illuminate the box interior of your F-150 so you can clearly and easily see everything whether it’s dark out or you’ve got your gear covered up or capped off. You’ve got buttons to turn the LED lights on or off both in your cabin and mounted within the bed. Some models include an additional LED light that shines a spotlight on your trailer hitch. If you’ve ever had an impatient travel partner shining a spotlight on it for you while you hook up, you’ll know how nice this feature will be.
Last but not least, we’ll mention the available power locking tailgate that’s also got a remote feature so you can let your tailgate down hands free with the push of a key fob button.
