Ford GT release date
On Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Ford unveiled what’s sure to be one of the most talked-about vehicles to come out of the show: the all-new Ford GT carbon fiber supercar. Its sleek look and innovative technology, not to mention housing the most powerful EcoBoost production engine in Ford history, are already helping it gain plenty of attention and praise from showgoers and industry insiders. So when is the Ford GT release date, and what else can we tell you about this brand new performance vehicle from Ford? We’ll tell you what we know:
Design: The first thing people will take note of — the aspect that’s truly impossible to miss — is the design. Striking lines, deeply-sculpted angles, upward-swinging doors — the Ford GT is truly a sculpture in addition to being highly functional at every level. While beautiful, the design serves the higher purposes of aerodynamics, capability, comfort, and control, just to name a few. The lightweight composites used to construct the GT will help to inform the direction of future Ford production models going forward.
Performance: As we mentioned, this is the most powerful production EcoBoost ever created. As the EcoBoost engine lineup continues to permeate the Ford family from family vehicles to performance models like the new Mustang, the technology only grows — in the case of the GT, its twin-turbocharged V6 is expected to produce more than 600 horsepower.
Release Date: So when can you expect to see the new Ford GT in person? All we know at this time in regards to a release date for the GT is that it’s set to go into production in 2016. Whether that means it’ll also hit showrooms in that same year or if we’ll need to wait until 2017 to test drive and own the GT remains undetermined.
