Looking for information about the Fond du Lac Memorial Day Parade this 2015? We’ve got the details on when and where this annual event will take place.
While a long weekend to kick off the summer season is certainly something to be excited about, it’s also important that we take time to remember those for whom this holiday was set aside. We hope to see a great turnout at this year’s downtown Fond du Lac Memorial Day Parade. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to attend:
When:
Memorial Day is on Monday, May 25th, and the Fond du Lac parade will be held on the same day. It’ll begin at 10:00am, so we highly recommend getting downtown plenty early to get set up with a good spot to watch the parade.
Where:
The parade will begin at the corner of Guindon Boulevard and Main Street, proceeding North up Main until it reaches Veteran’s Park. Spectators can watch from anywhere in that stretch along Main.
Things to keep in mind:
Because the Memorial Day parade is intended to be an event in which people offer remembrance and respect, you might not expect some of the typical fanfare you see at other parades. For example, there won’t be commercial floats and candy won’t be thrown, so make sure children are aware that this parade is a little different, and why.
After:
Following the parade, the end point of Veteran’s Park will be the site of the Memorial Day Ceremony. The sponsor for this event is the Marine Corps League in Fond du Lac.
We hope to see all of our friends and neighbors out at this year’s downtown Fond du Lac Memorial Day Parade 2015.
