Now that winter is upon us it is more important than ever that we make sure our brakes our in ideal condition on the often snowy and slippery roadways. Alright, so what are some of the signs you should get your brakes checked?
Well, for one thing, it’s a good idea to have them checked at regular intervals whether you’re seeing any signs of an issue. Around every three or four oil changes it would probably be good to have a brake inspection included in your service appointment.
Another way to tell it’s time for an inspection will require you to turn down your music for a bit and listen for any squealing or grinding sounds when braking. This can mean your brake pads are wearing thin or, in the case of a grinding sound, worn entirely through.
Then there’s the way that braking feels. Your brakes should feel responsive and quick to bring your vehicle to a stop. If you feel any give, or like they’re not responding right away or even sort of “pushing back” that’s a sign that something may be wrong with the rotor.
