So, you’re thinking about doing some trailering this summer — maybe you’ve got a boat, an RV, or a trailer for hauling a whole bunch of stuff… whatever the situation is, you’ve probably gone through the backing-up rigmarole a hundred times, having someone (a disgruntled spouse, perhaps) stand behind and wave you forward, back, over, over, other way, back, back, okay, forward, over… You know the drill. It works, but it’s probably crossed your mind, several times over, that there’s got to be a better way. In fact, there is!
Ford has just announced an all-new trailer backup assist system that’ll be available on the upcoming 2016 F-150, and from the sounds of it backing up will be easier than ever. How does the Ford F-150 Pro Trailer Backup Assist work? We’ll go over the highlights here:
You Turn the Knob, the F-150 Turns the Wheels
Traditionally, backing requires you to do a little bit of backwards thinking — want the trailer to go left? Turn your wheels to the right, but not too hard or you risk hitting the trailer with your truck. It can be something of an ordeal. Now, with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist, all you do is rotate a knob in the direction you want to go and to the degree you’d like, and the system will steer the truck for you in the direction and amount you desire. Whether you’re an experienced tower or somewhat of a novice, this system will streamline and simplify the process for you every time you need to back up.

We’re definitely excited about being able to offer this technology to our customers here at Holiday Ford once the 2016 Ford F-150 arrives here at our Fond du Lac dealership. We know many of our truck customers need to do a lot of towing and hauling, and anything to make things easier is more time spent getting work done or enjoying recreational activities — and we’re all for that! Give us a call if you’d like to check out our current new and used truck selection!
