We know it’s not exactly fun or cheap to get your tires replaced — but it is a necessity from time to time to keep you and your passengers as safe as possible while navigating the roads of day to day life. If you’re like us, you’d like to reduce the necessity of that expense by as much as possible, so today we’re giving you some of our best advice for how to make your tires last longer. As much as we’re always happy to see our customers when they visit our service center, we  hope with these tips you’ll be in about your tires a little less!

Stay on top of tire pressure: Especially in the winter months, your tire pressure is going to decrease with time and driving. Driving on underinflated tires is bad not only for your gas mileage but it will eventually contribute to added wear on your tires’ surfaces as well. Make sure to check pressure at least once a month or keep an eye on the Tire Pressure Monitoring System if you have one.

Regular rotation: Since your tires wear differently depending on whether they’re at the front, rear, left, or right of your vehicle, you’ll want to make sure they’re being rotated regularly to ensure an even wear across each tire. An easy rule of thumb is every other regular oil change, assuming that puts you right in the 6,000-8.000 mile mark.

Alignment is key: Being out of proper alignment can spell quick wear on your tires, and it’s easily avoided by paying close attention while you drive. Feel a little pull to one side or the other, maybe a slight vibration? These are some of the signs. If you think you might need an alignment, bring your vehicle in to us and we’ll have a look.

If it does end up being that time, of course we’ve got you covered there too. Check out our coupons page for current deals on tires and more.
