Is the Ford Ranger Coming Back?
It’s been rumored and speculated about for years, but could the Ford Ranger actually comeback? According to sources with knowledge of Ford’s plans, we could be stocking a Ford Ranger in the next few years.
When Is the Ford Ranger Coming Back?
According to the current set of rumors, the Ford Ranger could be a new model being built in 2018 at a Michigan assembly plant. There’s currently a model of the Ford Ranger not available in the US, but this model is actually closer to the F-150 than what the old Ranger was, which is why it isn’t sold in the US.
So will the Ford Ranger come back? At this point, it seems pretty up in the air. Without anything concrete or a statement directly from Ford, it seems silly to speculate too much. That shouldn’t stop us from getting excited by the prospect, though! We’d love to sell a mid-size truck with the Ford logo attached to it, and we know a lot of our customers would enjoy that as well.
What is the Ford Ranger?
If you didn’t know, the Ford Ranger was a midsize truck that Ford produced for 29 years until it was discontinued in 2011.
If Ford produces a new Ranger model, it will likely be very fuel efficient, even more so than the 2015 F-150s, and come in at a less expensive price than the current F-150. Yes, this also means that the Ranger wouldn’t be as powerful and offer as much towing options, but many would still be interested in this. A mid-size truck is great for someone who enjoys things like hunting and fishing, but also needs a vehicle to make long commutes in — and that’s where having that extra MPG really comes in handy!
