The idea behind an automatic climate control system isn’t to turn on and off without your say-so. Instead, such a feature is designed for keeping a desired temperature without you having to constantly fiddle with the controls. Let’s take heating your car as an example. Think about how many times you’ve turned the knob to increase the heat or to increase the fan speed, only to have to then turn the knob back down when you get too warm, leading to a never-ending cycle. Automatic climate control works to eliminate the need for this.
How to Use the Ford Automatic Climate Control System
So, let’s show you how the automatic climate control system can work in your Ford. For this tutorial, we will be using the 2017 Fiesta as an example, so keep in mind that your Ford may be a little different.
Although you can adjust the fan and temperature knobs manually, if you want to set your desired temperature and allow the system to do the work for you, simply press the AUTO button. In the Fiesta, it is located in the center of the fan speed knob. Once AUTO is selected, you can use the temperature control knob to change the temperature, which will be displayed on the climate control screen. Another automatic feature of this system is that it will automatically adjust to that set temperature each time you turn the vehicle back on in the future.
