Pair phone to SYNC in a Ford Fusion
One question we get pretty often here at Holiday Ford when we sell a new car is: “How do I pair my phone?” We’re always happy to help our customers pair up their phone right away before they ever drive off the lot, but for those of you at home figuring it out on your own, we can help you too!
Whether you’re looking to pair a phone to SYNC in a Ford Fusion or any other model, we’ve got instructions for you that should help get you all SYNCed up so you can stream audio, make calls, and more!
Okay, before you get started, it’s important to make sure that your phone is compatible with the SYNC system. Most recent model smartphones will be compatible, but it’s worth your time to check so you don’t end up fiddling around with something that was never going to work to begin with!
First, you want your Bluetooth-enabled device on and in Bluetooth discovery mode. Then turn your vehicle on and press the SYNC phone button. Use the seek function to choose an option that will read something like “Pair a Bluetooth device.”
You’ll be prompted to begin pairing the device by the SYNC system, and then you’ll receive a PIN to enter into your phone. After that, you may experience a short wait while the devices sync up, and then you should be set to go!
SYNC will ask if you if you want this to be the primary device (you can add more but it will default to this one unless otherwise specified). You’ll also be prompted to download your contacts library, which we recommend doing if you’d like to be able to make hands-free calls from the road.
If you’ve got questions or concerns about how the SYNC system works or how to pair your device with it, just give us a call or stop in and see us here at Holiday Ford — We’ll be glad to help out.
