Here at Holiday Ford, it’s always a pleasure to announce when one of our models is the recipient of an industry award, and we’ve got to say it’s especially exciting to see one of our all-new redesigned models come into some well-deserved accolades right out of the gate. In this case, it’s the recent announcement by Truck Trend Magazine that the new 2015 Ford F-150 has earned its coveted 2015 Pickup Truck of the Year award. We want to tell you a little bout about the Ford F-150’s Truck Trend award, and we’ll also let you know how you can get in and test drive this incredible new pickup here in Fond du Lac. Alright, so what kind of criteria did Truck Trend use to single out the 2015 Ford F-150 for its top pickup honor? We’ll go over some of what they mentioned in their write-up about the award right here:
Weight reduction: The team at Truck Trend were immediately interested in how the Ford F-150‘s new lightweight aluminum alloy body would stack up in terms of performance. But first they just had to admire how it was able to improve fuel economy without sacrificing strength.
Capability: Part of what makes the weight reduction and new body material such an impressive achievement is that the F-150 doesn’t miss a beat in areas like towing, hauling, and endurance in a variety of conditions. As you’ve seen in the Ford You Test videos we’ve shown before on our blog, there’s really nothing missing when it comes to performance and capacity to carry out whatever tasks are handed to it.
Comfort and ride quality: Throughout the testing, the panel at Truck Trend was consistently improved by the handling and braking that was in part a product of the weight reduction. In general, it was clear that the 2015 F-150 was designed with a high quality experience for the driver in mind as much as any other consideration.
