For 2017, the Ford Taurus is available with three different engine choices, which we are excited to share.
3.5L Ti-VCT DOHC V6
The 3.5L Ti-VCT 24-valve DOHC V6 engine is the standard engine for the 2017 Ford Taurus. It delivers 288 horsepower and 254 lb.-ft. of torque, and offers an estimated fuel economy of 18 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway (FWD models).
3.5L EcoBoost® V6
For even more potency, there is the 365 horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine. This engine is exclusively used in the SHO model, which is the sporty member of the Taurus lineup. In addition to a heart-pounding amount of horsepower, the engine delivers 350 lb.-ft. of torque and a 16 mpg-city/24 mpg-highway estimated fuel economy.
2.0L Ti-VCT EcoBoost®I4
If you are looking for more efficiency, the 2.0L Ti-VCT EcoBoost®I4 engine is your best option! This engine provides an estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Just because the 2.0L Ti-VCT EcoBoost®I4 engine is the most efficient option doesn’t mean that it is weak—it delivers a robust 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque!
Drivetrain Options for 2017 Ford Taurus
One of the best things about the 2017 Ford Taurus is that it is available with all-wheel drive! This drivetrain comes standard for the SHO model with the 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine, and is available as an option for models outfitted with the 3.5L Ti-VCT DOHC V6 engine. 2017 Ford Taurus models equipped with the 2.0L Ti-VCT EcoBoost®I4 is only available with front-wheel drive.
