There are plenty of new things to look forward to with the 2017 Ford F-150, including a new engine, but sometimes it’s the small changes that are made year-to-year that really make a difference. The final weight of a vehicle and certain numbers like MPG and towing stats are always played around with a little bit. If fuel efficiency is important to you with your truck, then you might want to consider the 2017 Ford F-150.
Highway MPG on the 2017 Ford F-150
It’s tough to find a truck that can go toe-to-toe with the stats that the 2017 F-150 puts out and that includes its fuel efficiency rating. The 2017 Ford F-150 has a maximum Highway efficiency rating of 26 MPG when equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost V6. The new 3.5L EcoBoost V6 offers the most towing capacity out of all four engines, but is also highly efficient. The new 3.5L EcoBoost offers up to 25 MPG on the highway, which is a good increase over the previous year. Partially responsible is its new 10-speed automatic transmission, as well.
How does adding 4×4 affect F-150 Efficiency?
While the 2017 F-150 does come standard as a 4×2 configured truck, many choose to upgrade to the full 4×4 system. Adding 4×4 increases the weight of the F-150, so you’ll see a minor drop in fuel efficiency. You can usually expect to see about 2 MPG or so less than what the 4×2 models will offer, though efficiency also depends highly on your driving habits.
