We’ve known for quite a while that in the near future Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be coming to Ford’s lineup of vehicles, but we haven’t had a specific date to keep in mind. However, Ford recently released a statement finally answering our questions! So if you’ve been wondering When will Apple CarPlay and Android Auto be available in a Ford, then your wait is over!
What Ford Vehicles will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
With Ford, you won’t have to worry about your dream car not being able to take advantage of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. That’s because all 2017 Ford vehicles that are equipped with its SYNC 3 system will be compatible with both CarPlay and Android Auto — and ready to go! The first Ford vehicle to be compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto will be the all-new 2017 Ford Escape, which is set to release Spring 2016 so you don’t have a long wait either! Furthermore, if you have a 2016 Ford vehicle that is equipped with the SYNC 3 Infotainment system, then you’ll also be able to use CarPlay and Android Auto after receiving an upgrade later in the year.

New Features for Ford SYNC 3
CarPlay and Android Auto won’t be the only fun toys in your car, though, as there will be plenty to do with Ford’s SYNC 3 system. The SYNC 3 system is already powerful and intuitive, but it’s getting even better in Ford’s newest vehicles. A key addition is that your car can be equipped with 4G LTE to stay connected and remotely access your car’s features. New compatible apps will also be added through AppLink, including AAA member service, Concur expense report tracking, and Eventseeker.
