Sedan and hatchback differences for the Focus
Outside of a few special models, the Ford Focus sedan and hatchback are both very similar. For the trim levels they share, they have the same features and engine options, though the hatchback tends to have a slightly higher MSRP. There are small differences in fuel economy, but the major difference is in cargo capacity.
The hatchback Focus models allow for easy access to the rear and give you 23.8 cubic-feet of cargo room. You can also fold down those rear seats to provide up to 44.8 cubic-feet of cargo room. The sedan on the other hand, provides 13.2 cubic-feet of cargo room in the trunk.

Special sedan only Focus models
The one trim unique to the sedan is actually the base model S trim. It has a starting MSRP of just $17,950 giving you a much lower entry point into the Focus lineup. The most affordable hatchback option is the SE at an MSRP of $20,540.

Special Hatchback only models
The hatchback version of the Focus actually has three unique trim levels all residing at the higher end of the spectrum. It has the performance ST and RS, the latter of which comes with all-wheel drive, and there’s also the Focus Electric which is exclusively a hatchback.
